    December on Cape Cod is a special time of anticipation and celebration. From craft fairs to tree lightings to Christmas strolls - the opportunities to enjoy this enchanted season of the year seem almost endless on the Cape. Besides all of the other activities available on the Cape, below are some special holiday events you and your family can enjoy.

Cape Cod Christmas Strolls
Close your eyes and imagine picture-perfect New England scenes coming to life before your eyes! When you experience Christmas on Cape Cod, those images will become real. Many museums, bed and breakfasts, stores and shops will be decked out with their holiday finery for you to enjoy. In early December, many towns and villages have Christmas Strolls, accompanied by tree lightings, Santa Claus' arrival, carolers, craft fairs, and many other holiday events for all to enjoy.

Bourne
Christmas in Old Bourne Village ~ Saturday through December 3rd, December 9th & 10th
Presented by Bourne Historical Society
Christmas in Old Bourne Village, lighting of the Candles in Historic Old Bourne Village, tree lighting and puppet show at the Public Library, chowder at Bourne Historical Society, desert at the Briggs Mc Dermott House.

This event begins around mid-November and goes all the way through December. It concludes with a joyous First Night Celebration on New Year's Eve. There are many activities to chose from during this festive time including a dinner dance at Chatham Bars
Inn, arts and crafts fairs, candy cane making, and the arrival of Santa Claus.

Chatham Garden Club's ninth annual Festival of Trees  ~  November 24 & 25, December 1  ~  2 - 4 PM

This 3-day event includes Christmas caroling at Nobska light, fairs, concerts, the lighting of the Falmouth Village Green, Santa's arrival by boat, and concludes with a Christmas parade on Main Street on Sunday.

A Christmas Story ~ December 8 through 30th
Harwich Junior Theatre, Division Street, Harwich

Harwich Port Stroll  ~
 December 1    ~   5:30 - 9 PM
Features merchant open houses, music and refreshments. Tree-lighting ceremony and family carol sing, 5:30 p.m., Doane Park. Santa arrives by fire truck at visitor's center, 6:15 p.m. (photos $5); visits until 8 p.m. Horse-drawn carriage rides through village.
Adult fare is $2 button, free for ages under 12.

Santa Claus arrives on Barnstable Fire Department ladder truck, 7:30 p.m. Cape and Islands United Way Spectacle of Trees at JFK Hyannis Museum (proceeds support local nonprofits). Evening continues along Main Street with activities including hayrides, live music, shopping and kids' activities.

Breakfast with Santa at British Beer Company ~ December 2nd ~  9 AM
Events continue with blessing of the animals, free outdoor movie and in-store demonstrations. Harbor lighting with appearance by Santa on Barnstable Fire Department boat, 4 p.m. Drawing of winners from Spectacle of Trees with final Santa appearance, 8 p.m. Dinner discounts at select restaurants.
Tickets, $6, available in advance only at BBC and JFK Hyannis Museum.

Last Night, First Day 2007    ~    December 31 - January 1   
From music to fireworks to belly dancing to a cruise - come celebrate the close of 2006 and the beginning of 2007 with a great variety of activities on the Vineyard.
First Night Buttons can be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce, Bunch of Grapes, Mocha Motts, The Mail Room, Alley's General Store, Island Entertainment and the MVOnline office.  
Tickets for the Fireworks Cruise are $35 and include the cruise, a First Night Button,
dancing, a taco bar, music by a the JC Jazz Trio, a cash bar and a great view of the
